A standard output jack grips your cable tip with a single sprung tab, and a worn tab is the usual reason a guitar starts crackling when the cable moves. These jacks use two concave ground contacts and two concave hot leads instead, so the plug is held on all sides. The practical result is a tighter fit and a connection that stays put when the cable gets stepped on or yanked in the middle of a set.

Pure Tone also rates them for increased voltage handling, and claims a cleaner, stronger signal than a standard jack.
